About the game
The game is a free-to-play MMORPG set in Atreia, with separate faction journeys that lead into open-world exploration, dungeons, raids, and large-scale conflict. Flying is central to travel and discovery, while combat power grows through gear, skills, Daevanion progression, Stigmas, pets, titles, and other long-term systems. The main story is the fastest route through the early game, but regional objectives and side activities become important when Ascension requirements slow your progress. At level 45, progression shifts away from experience and toward gearing, weekly activities, dungeon rewards, and horizontal collection goals.

AION 2 Beginner Guide
The opening becomes much easier when you focus on the main story, upgrade only what helps now, and leave expensive long-term decisions until your build starts to take shape.
- 1Follow the main story firstMain Story quests provide the core leveling path, unlock systems, and carry you toward the level 45 endgame.
- 2Clear required side contentRegional quests, Sealed Dungeons, and exploration objectives help fill Ascension requirements when the story is gated.
- 3Prioritize core skillsInvest in the two or three abilities that define your class instead of spreading early skill points across everything.
- 4Avoid overinvesting in leveling gearKeep your weapon useful, but save major materials and Kinah for equipment that will stay relevant longer.
